Think Your Way Out of an Escape Room

Escape rooms have become a go-to activity for fun seekers both at home and across Europe. Spain, in particular, boasts an impressively diverse selection that'll blow your mind.
Local escape rooms transport players into wildly different themes and worlds. You might find yourself diving into historical mysteries, facing spine-chilling horror scenarios, stepping into fantasy realms, or enjoying family-friendly puzzle adventures. Some rooms even tap into childhood nostalgia while serving up brain-bending challenges that'll keep everyone on their toes.

Most rooms require advance booking, and heads up, you'll typically need at least one adult in your group.
While many rooms welcome players of all ages, some might be off-limits to younger adventurers due to difficulty level or scary content.
Booking and payment are super flexible: you can usually pay online ahead of time or just settle up when you arrive.

Wine tasting at the vineyard
If you're into wineries or wine tasting, why not head out to one of the vineyards near Alicante?

Sample local wines or join a vineyard tour

The Alicante region is home to dozens of wineries producing both white and red wines.

Some well-known white grape varieties include Macabeo, Meseguera, Planta Fina, and Verdil. Each variety has its own unique flavor profile, and they're used to make wines ranging from light and crisp to slightly fuller-bodied. These whites are especially great with tapas, their fresh, fruity notes really complement those small Spanish bites.

On the red wine side, the Alicante area is known for varieties like Monastrell, Garnacha Tinta, Tempranillo, and Bobal. Monastrell is particularly important here, it's the star grape for local reds, thriving in the long sunny days and dry growing conditions. Wines made from this grape can be enjoyed young or aged, and it's also used to make the famous Fondillón dessert wine. Thanks to Tempranillo and Bobal, the red wines here have deep, fruity flavors.

You can pick up local wines at specialty shops and wine stores, or better yet, go straight to the source and taste them at the wineries themselves. There are tours that depart from Alicante city.
